Needless to say, this post shall be of a musical nature.
I adore music much like anyone else on this planet. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find even a single person who doesnt. Kinda makes me want to begin a quest to find such a person.....Anyways, I figured i'd lay out some of the bands/artists I really love. On the opposite end of this, I shall also lay out all those I can't stand. Why will I do this? Because i'm pimp like that.
I can listen to just about anything but my absolute favorite singer would have to be Prince (hence the purple font). Now, almost everyone at some point has heard one of his songs, probably "1999", "Purple Rain" or "Little Red Corvette". Those are the obvious choices and while still very good, I prefer to go for the lesser known songs. Namely, "Anna Stesia", "Bob George", "Gold" or even "Pussy Control". Let's be honest for a moment, Prince pretty much ruled the '80's in terms of music and even film (Purple Rain was one of the highest grossing films of 1984). It was with "Purple Rain" that Prince broke out into the mainstream and began his musical takeover. Interesting factoid, Prince doesn't actually own the publishing rights to a large chunk of his 80's musical output. Actually, Warner Brothers Records screwed him, for lack of a better term. He still fights to this day to have the rights turned over to him.
Another musical hero of mine would have to be Stevie Nicks, frontwoman of the seminal rock group Fleetwood Mac and legendary solo artist. Again, she is one of those artists that kids today sadly don't seem to know about. Let's face it, it's all about being "crunk" or "scene" and nobody cares about decent music anymore.....BUT I digress. Notable songs would include: "Edge Of Seventeen", "Stand Back" "Landslide" (Fleetwood Mac), and countless others I don't feel like mentioning. Interesting fact, Stevie has a rather large hole in her nose from years of cocaine abuse. The hole even affected her singing voice and yet, she is apprehensive to have it corrected.
Moving right along......Tori Amos is my next favorite. For some reason I keep choosing people that most kids have never heard of >.>
Regardless of that, Tori is an amazing songstress and has a number of succesessful songs. These would include but are not limited to: "Crucify", "Winter", "Welcome to England", "Cornflake Girl". Her concerts are notable for her cover versions of other popular songs. She welcomes requests before every show and will play them better than the originals in a lot of cases. Interesting Tori Fact, she was once involved in an electro-pop band called "Y Kant Tori Read" which failed almost as soon as it started. She has even gone so far as to block any potential reissues of the album.
Now for someone i'm sure everyone knows. Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone or as shes known to most, Madonna. Without a doubt she is my favorite female singer to have ever lived. She is the basis for most if not all modern pop acts *cough* GaGa *cough*. I won't list off her notable songs because I really don't need to because I know you've heard one....or two.......or several. Interesting fact about Madonna, she is the most successful female artist of all time and her 2008-2009 Sticky and Sweet Tour was the highest grossing tour by a solo artist ever.
Okay I could ramble on about what I like musically for days but I think I should end it for now. I will leave you with a short list of what I dislike muscially.
1. Most, if not all, scene kid "bands"/"artists"
2. The fans of Jeffree Star for actually having the balls to say he has any real musical talent.
3. People who don't write their own songs. That REALLY bothers me.
4. People who don't know when they've used too much auto-tune. There is a certain skill to using it that most haven't mastered.
5. People who don't sing live during their shows. This one bothers me more than anything else. It's also the reason i've given up on Britney Spears.
Ok, that really sums it up for now. I'm sure i'll post a part two to this eventually though.
I leave you with a song by Tori Amos called "Welcome to England".

"Worried About The Boy" review and Nightwish vocalist comparison.
So I shall begin by informing anyone who reads this that I watched a lovely movie today. It was called "Worried About The Boy" and was about one of my all time favorite singers, Boy George.
To be honest, I was not expecting much actually. I figured it would be your average cut and dry, boring biopics about a singer with an embattled past. I was pleased to find that I could not have been more wrong. The actor portraying George was a lovely british boy by the name of Douglas Booth. I am pleased to inform you that not only is he drop dead gorgeous, he is immensly talented in the way of acting. There were points during the film that I forgot that I was watching a biopic, he looked like, and channeled Boy George perfectly. Freddie Fox played George's squat mate and friend, Marilyn. Marilyn is a rather amusing person in that he, or she rather, lives her life as Marilyn Monroe. Not in the "I really believe myself to be this person" sort of way, rather its an homage to Marilyn. Freddie was wickedly funny and rather believeable himself. Richard Madden plays Kirk, George's first big love affair. I felt that he did a very nice job playing a character that was gripped with the delima of their own sexuality. Mathew Horne portrayed Jon Moss, who in George's own words, was his first REAL love. He was also the drummer of Culture Club, of which many songs were written. Again, I thought he did a very nice job of playing someone who really cared for George but wasn't sure how he felt about his own sexuality.
Now on to the plot of the film. The film starts off at a taping of "Top of the Pops" where George has locked himself in the car. The band, worried that his behaviour may foil their apperance on the show send Jon out to convince him in. George, still locked in the car, answers Jon's calls with only silence thus prompting the drummer to call him a prat and storm angrily back into the studio. George's face is show hidden in shadow and a single tears runs down his face where it quickly cuts to George in school. Over the next hour and a half you are taken through George's struggle with both love, his family, and his struggle to become a singer in a band. These scenes are intermittently cut off with glimpses into 1986 where a strung out George attempts to cope with the pressure of stardom. The films ending while not outrightly upbeat, shows George wondering what is next for him. Caught somewhere between "Station to Station" and "Low" as Jon puts it. The final scene shows George doing what he does best though, performing.
My rating for this movie would have to be a 10, simply because it isn't your run of the mill "woe is me, i'm a star and I can't handle it" type film. It truly shows how George was during that period of his life and doesn't try to sugar coat it.
Now, on to other new business..... I had a discussion last night on facebook as to who the better singer of the band Nightwish was. I am a purest and honestly think that Tarja has a better voice than Anette, especially when it comes to that type of music. I did check out Anette's former band "Alyson Avenue" and actually thought she sounded alright. Her voice is better suited for pop oriented metal/rock music and NOT the symphonic orgasm that is Nightwish. Any thoughts and opinions are very welcome though.
Much respect :)

Day Two, I'm actually doing a followup post?!?!
It is 6:25 in the morning and I can't think of any better time than now to blog.
So, last night my sister (who is thirteen) went on her very first date. Now, while I was happy for her and all of that, my brotherly protective instinct kicked in and I was very concerned as to how this boy treated my dear sister. I was more worried when I found out that her gentleman caller had a learners permit and was able to drive 0_0. From what I can gather though he treated her with the uttmost respect. Good to know considering I would be obligated to kick his ass had he attempted to put the moves on her. I was his age and I know what was on his mind and that thought worried me to no end. Like I said though, everything went well and I shant be needing to kick his ass.
Let's see.......anything else to report?
....
.......
...........
Oh! It was brought to my attention the other day that some ignorant girl had no idea who Stevie Nicks was. Is that not the most god-awful thing ever? I was very very disturbed to learn about this girls naivity to say the least. Then again, girls are morons who needen't be trusted to have musical taste of any real measure. She even said that Stevie was dead and had never been in Fleetwood Mac, which, is completely inaccurate as Stevie plans to release a new album this upcoming March.
Last piece of information I feel like sharing is this little gem. Yesterday it became painfully clear to me that one of my closest female friends had developed a crush on me. This is a difficult situation as I am in fact, gay. Thus I have no desire to have any sort of romantic relationship with her. I do not want to lose her as a friend but I fear that my rejection of her romantic advances shall inevitably lead to this. Whatever shall I do?
I suppose I shall close this post but I welcome anyone's thoughts and/or opinions on any of the afformentioned topics.
Much love and respect to you all

My first ever blog post ^___^
So, this is my first ever post on this blog. I suppose an introduction is in order, I am 18 years old and my name is......well, that doesn't matter right now. Perhaps one day I may feel the desire to share my name with the readers or, perhaps not. It remains to be seen. I will try to post things as often as I can but people in my life can sometimes get me sidetracked.
A brief outline as to what exactly I shall be talking about on here.
1. Things that bother me for some reason. Examples would be : Republicans, biggots, hate mongers, kids with horrible taste in music, and so on and so forth.
2. Things that interest me as a gay person. Such as gay marriage and things along those lines.
3. Anything musical that interests me in the slightest. To be perfectly honest, I will no doubt post links to videos and things when I have nothing else to discuss. However sometimes these clips will tie in with what i've been discussing.
Now that list mentions some but not all of the things i'll talk about. I'm an incredibly random person sometimes, so it just kinda depends on how i'm feeling at the time.

I think that sums it up for now but I hope to attract many readers who are curious as to what I have to say about things.
